Class Overview

 

Body Balance offers classes in the following areas:


Tai Chi - taught from a deep understanding and personal experience of the power of Tai Chi to protect and to heal.  You will learn to build strength, balance, and develop calm alertness with this powerful moving meditation.


Kung Fu - cardio and fitness at its finest and most engaging.  You will learn crafty and complex moves while building cardio, flexibility, speed and coordination not to mention mental acuity.  Like Tai Chi, to master Kung Fu you will develop a calm alertness in the face of an attack and respond with quick, fluid movements.  Classes are taught with patience, fun and good humor.


Awakening Chi Program- Each month on the second Saturday, we open our school to the publicto teach our "Awakening Chi" program.  This is a powerful yet simple,easy and fun relaxation routine.  This routine will give you real toolsto unwind, get strong, calm, clear and balanced. This program is free with registration!

 

 

Instructor Training - as a student you have the opportunity to advance your skills by teaching.  There is no more effective way to learn than by teaching.  You will learn how to teach effectively with encouragement, compassion, and identifying an individual's own learning styles.  Gain leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.


 

Off Site Presentations & Instruction:

 
The Benefits of Oncology Massage - We will discuss how to decrease the symptoms of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (numbness and tingling) to lymphedema prevention to the profound benefits of relaxation, pain relief and more.  We will come to your support or professional group to discuss and demonstrate these and other simple but profound benefits of oncology massage.

 

Massage for Caregivers - Teaching techniques appropriate for caretakers of people healing from injury and disease and for those in hospice.  We will teach caregivers how they can give comfort through appropriate touch and simple massage techniques.
