Body Balance, with Pat and Patty Hancock, is my Healing Place.  Six months ago I went there, almost unable to walk across the room without having to sit down.  I had managed, over several months, to get off Cymbalta, which I had taken for fibromyalgia; now my mission was to gain strength and endurance and get off 2 more drugs—nabumetal and omeprazole—which I had taken for years for arthritis.  I was told by my arthritis doc that I’d never get off them, but I was determined to take back control of my life, and it included getting rid of medications and their side effects.

It has been an emotional, sometimes painful ride.  There were times I didn’t want to go to the classes.  I wasn’t sure I could do it.  But with the assurance and guidance of Pat, along with occasional  Arvigo massages by Patty, plus emotional support from both of them, I am ecstatic to report that I am not only off both of those medications, I can walk across the room and even around the block these days.  When I look back six months ago, I felt I was facing a wheelchair existence.  Now, I am facing life, unafraid.

With my grateful thanks,
